Enjoy how this bike handles very much, climbs and descends easily, I use it mostly for single track trail riding, but I do plan to race it some this season. Hand grips aren't great to small for my hands.-Thumper07
I purchased this as my first 29er after looking at several different brands. I was previously on a Specialized FSR Stumpy and a Giant Trance 26er. I was looking for a bike with similar component specs and wanted to stay around the $3,000 price range. As soon as I test road the Superfly I knew it was the bike for me. It measured almost exactly the same reach, bar height, top tube length and stand over as my FSR Stumpy which fits me perfect. The bike handled like I had been on it for seasons and performed very well. Not quit as fast as my 26er out of the gate, but once its moving it makes up for it. Not much of a weight difference between the 26 and 29er which I figured the Superfly would be noticeably heavier. Not the case here. The Superfly is light enough to xc with. I did a Bontrager tubeless set up and XC1 Team issue tires which cost me nothing with Treks $200 accessories rebate. This lightened up the bike a little more and improved the handling even more. If your looking for a great all around XC bike to trail ride and recreationally race. In my opinion this bike will not disappoint.-Thumper07
I ride a lot of local rocky terrain with loose gravel and sand. I needed to upgrade the tires to a more aggressive tread pattern to handle it. Once I did that, it made all the difference. This is an outstanding bike. I love the way it smoothes out the down hill ride. This is my first 29er and I'm glad I made the switch. The only improvement I can think of would be a slightly smaller low-end crank, maybe a 22 instead of a 24 to help climb steep trails. Other than that, I give it an 8.5 out of 10 (nobody gets a 10 in my book).-Thumper07
